Project Coordinator

Location: Lansing, MI

Reports to Manager, Work Management. Oversee the planning for work impacting internal resources as a result of Capital Projects. Will act as a liaison between Project Managers of Capital work, the Work Management Team, and Internal Resource Groups. Activities include, but are not limited to, identification and projection of labor resources needed to support scope of Capital work, as well as identification and projection of cost and availability for labor, material, equipment and other resources needed.

Collaborates with WM team to plan, organize, monitor and coordinate all work tasks for internal resources resulting from Capital Projects. Operates as a liaison for the Work Management Team and key asset stakeholders. Extensive coordinating and collaborating with Project Managers or Responsible Parties overseeing Capital work. Development and maintenance of project milestones and deliverables for internal resources based on overall project schedules. Interacts and coordinates extensively with resource groups and other project stakeholders both internal and external. Maintains database and/or records of work tasks. Determines material, equipment and resources needed for work tasks being completed by internal resources. Aligns scheduled work for internal resources to support overall Capital Project schedules. Performs job site walk down and reviews with necessary stakeholders. Prepares work packages for any work being completed by internal resources. Works closely with Work Management Team, resource groups and Project Managers to develop scopes of work, estimates and cost projections. Works with Schedulers and Planners to develop work sequencing and expected work durations for labor in alignment with overall Project Schedule. Works with Project Managers to provide status updates to key stakeholders. Utilizes work management software as well as mainframe databases, personal computer software and other applications to complete work assignments. Completes and maintains reports and any other related paperwork. Procures parts, equipment and supplies, does RFQs and other accounting functions through SAP following purchasing policies. Investigates new technologies and methodologies. Offers suggestions for process improvements and job efficiencies. Assist in clearance requests. Utilizing results of Asset Management risks and criticality assessments to develop and maintain preventative maintenance plans for assets.
