Join us and be part of a better energy future.
We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to take on the position of Equipment Reliability (ER) Lead at Dungeness B Power Station, where delivering safe, reliable power is at the heart of our generation business.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Engineering Department reporting to the Components & Programmes Group Head and will be responsible for managing and leading the implementation and development of Equipment Reliability programmes on Station.
Located on the south coast of England, Dungeness and the surrounding Kent and East Sussex countryside enjoys some of the warmest, sunniest and driest weather in the UK. The Station is receiving record levels of investment to support its lifetime ambition of generating beyond 2028. Combine this with excellent transport links to London via high speed rail, the UK motorway network, and easy access to the near continent via the Channel Tunnel and Port of Dover; it makes working at Dungeness a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the UK’s clean energy needs, and an excellent training ground for developing skills for Nuclear New Build.
Equipment Reliability improvement is a strategic focus across Nuclear Generation in order to drive safety improvements, and to minimise unplanned losses. Improving Equipment Reliability is identified as key to the success of both Dungeness B and the fleet. The vision for ER across the fleet is “no unexpected failures of critical equipment”.
The role of ER Lead will offer the successful candidate varied and challenging work, leading the improvements in Equipment Reliability. This is principally driven via the delivery of five cross-functional work streams, with strong support from fleet, including; Single Point Vulnerability (SPV) mitigation, Preventative Maintenance (PM) optimisation, component engineering, critical spares & obsolescence and performance monitoring. The ER Lead owns the associated deliverables and manages the workload of a small team of contract personnel (Equipment Reliability Acceleration Team (ERAT)) to deliver the objectives.
As the ER Lead you will be responsible for managing and implementing key engineering and ER related programmes and initiatives. Your day to day duties will include:
You will have strong leadership qualities, including a demonstrable ability to build effective networks and relationships to influence at all levels, both internally and externally to the Station, to sustain engagement to support the ER process.
This role is seen as a potential chance for a talented individual to develop and hone their skills, and presents an ideal development opportunity for those seeking the next step into a leadership position. You will be required to take a flexible approach and innovate to improve Station performance.

The company also offers all employees at least two days each year to take part in Force for Good Community Volunteering. Employees are encouraged to use the programme to participate and engage with the local communities EDF Energy serves. All personal protective equipment will be provided.
