The Role

We are seeking an individual with several years of experience in equipment reliability and maintenance of heavy industrial equipment. Keen proven analytical and problem solving skills are an absolute must. The right person will have at least a four year undergraduate university degree in Engineering, and a proven track record working in an environment where the focus of their efforts revolved around improving equipment reliability. A professional designation in Engineering is desired, but not necessarily required. The successful incumbent will value the opportunity to work across several departments of the Company in a fast-paced and complex environment that is continually evolving. Experience building, and participating in high performance teams, and overseeing significant changes within their organization, will help the incumbent to meet their functional and operational goals.

Key Deliverables

  • Coach and mentor personnel to enhance a culture of proactive focus on equipment reliability.
  • Capitalize on previous experience with respect to improving equipment reliability.
  • Drive reliability improvements for the operating area.
  • Analyze equipment reliability history to determine issues.
  • Resolve reliability issues using formal root cause analysis or other analytical techniques.
  • Drive redesign / upgrade of existing equipment/components to improve reliability or life cycle.
  • Facilitate preliminary redesign of chronic equipment ensuring engineering principles are applied.
  • Apply predictive and condition based techniques and procedures as required.
  • Develop and oversee an equipment maintenance program for new pieces of equipment using FMEA, MTA, or similar methodologies as appropriate.
  • Provide technical assistance regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain department critical equipment lists.
  • Review/rationalize equipment maintenance program on critical pieces of equipment and critical spares to ensure it is complete and correctly applied (PM, PdM, Procedures, data trended, spares status).
  • Write and edit specialized procedures for critical components.
  • Facilitate purchase, replacement or rebuild of major / critical components.
  • Identify, recommend or implement maintenance best practices related to equipment and processes by remaining current on industry practices.
  • Manage Asset Performance Management System

Core Competencies and Skills Required

  • Must have a minimum four (4) year undergraduate Degree in Engineering.
  • Preference will be given to candidates that possess a Professional Engineer designation 
  • Must have a minimum of four (4) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possesses advanced skills in Microsoft EXCEL spreadsheets, macros and advanced graphs, CBM, RCA and RCM software.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills are required, in order to complete multiple tasks within restricted time frames.
  • Experience working and leading in a team atmosphere and excellent communication skills 
  • Requires strong problem solving skills, as well as the ability to identify, and initiate opportunities for improvement

Fulltime permanent position Work week – 40 hours

Salary Range - $76,176- $95,217 (depending upon experience)
