National Maintenance Reliability Specialist

Reporting into the National Packaging & Maintenance Manager, the National Maintenance Reliability Specialist will develop and support implementation of Asset Care standards, programs and processes aimed at maximizing equipment up time, prolonging equipment longevity and optimizing running levels through preventative maintenance and a structured Asset Care strategy.  Provide subject matter expertise to the breweries in the areas of Asset Care and equipment reliability.




Key Responsibilities Include:


  • Act as a key contributor to the Asset Care Improvement Team with efforts to standardize and streamline processes, develop reliability metrics and improve equipment care practices
  • Develop and implement methodologies, tools and procedures to identify and minimize facility and equipment risks, develop effective maintenance strategies for new and existing equipment and Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs to improve equipment reliability and performance
  • Support the development of key performance indicators, scorecards and feedback processes to assess the performance of the Asset Care program
  • Support regional brewery Asset Care teams by acting as a subject matter expert for Asset Care programs and preventative maintenance tools and support the implementation of related programs and processes
  • Monitor and report regularly on PM program health through PM program metrics and performance indicators
  • Lead and/or support FMEA and MTA initiatives to generate recommendations and develop procedures focused on improving equipment efficiency and optimization
  • Ensure maintenance manufacturing process changes maintain compliance with national, provincial and international legislation requirements and industry standards
  • Support the deployment of various continuous improvement initiatives to improve working conditions




  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry including at least 3 years with a focus on maintenance reliability

  • Experience in unionized environment is considered an asset

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering 

  • P. Eng license or working towards certification would be considered an asset

  • Computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office Suite software; knowledge of computer assisted design software required

  • Demonstrated working knowledge in the areas of Asset Care, Reliability Centered Maintenance, FMEA, MTA, basic maintenance cycle, CMMS, Visual Factory, and CAPEX programs

  • Demonstrated  knowledge of continuous improvement methods including 5S and the DMAIC approach

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze high volumes of complex data and create insights

  • Communications skills, both written and verbal; bilingual in French considered an asset

  • Capable of facilitating change across multiple locations and multi-disciplinary functions

  • Acceptable criminal check

  • Ability to demonstrate behaviours that support organizational values

  • Work is performed in the manufacturing facilities approximately 75% of the time, and in an office environment approximately 25% of the time

  • Travel required within and outside of Canada approximately 25% of the time

  • Must wear proper PPE to mitigate hazards present in production area
