The Reliability Leader is a key member of the maintenance team. This position provides leadership, technical assistance, and coordination for all maintenance improvement efforts. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Reliability Leader works closely with the Maintenance Leaders, Maintenance Technicians, Planners, Stores personnel, Production Teams, and Engineers to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance program at the mill in order to increase overall equipment reliability.
The Reliability Leader is focused primarily on improving the overall equipment reliability of the site.  In addition, working closely with the Maintenance Leader and Engineers, the Reliability Leader will provide support for long term program enhancements in the areas of asset criticality analysis, FMEA, planning, scheduling, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, precision maintenance, downtime analysis, basic care, and root cause analysis.
  • Education Required: BS in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, and Industrial) or equivalent work experience
  • Experience Required: 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment is required with maintenance supervision experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work in a team environment
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office programs is required
  • Analytical and detail oriented with a high level of commitment and self-motivation
  • Working knowledge of a computerized maintenance management system is required, JD Edwards experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the safe behaviors and safety compliance of the crews and maintenance contractors
  • Provide technical training for the maintenance technicians
  • Act as a subject matter expert in best maintenance practices and principals
  • Failure proofing key systems and components
  • Provide afterhours troubleshooting and breakdown support to maintenance leaders and crafts people as required
  • Eliminate repeat and repetitive failures using root cause analysis and other maintenance improvement tools
  • Improve the life cycle design of existing and new equipment as the opportunities present themselves
  • Provide back-up for the maintenance leader as required
  • Track and manage key performance indicators for area of responsibility

  • Improved Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance and Basic Care procedures and results
  • Increased Maintenance Effectiveness (planned/scheduled vs break in)
  • Increased Maintenance Efficiency (planned vs actual)
