GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the effective utilization of employees, skills and development, safety, policy administration, employee relations, discipline, and work assignment administration at the shift level.
Responsible for observing employees performance and doing annual appraisals.
Inspect and approves work of contractors and employees.
Makes daily assignments for each Maintenance employee.
Administrates company policies equally and fairly to employees.
Observe employees for safe work practices.
Gives performance appraisals to associates.
Reviews shift performance and improve as necessary.
Responsible of the day-to-day supervision of maintenance employees engaged in preventative maintenance, break downs, fabrication work or any other job assignment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Participates in the development of policies and procedures related to maintenance and safety.
Participate in annual preparation of goals and strategies for the maintenance department.
Work with maintenance manager to help diagnose problem areas and possible solutions.
Schedule preventative maintenance work orders and follow-up to make sure of completeness.
Complete other assignments as deemed appropriate by the Maintenance Manager.
In the event of absence, the next level down on the organizational chart covers for the next level up.
Employee has an individual responsibility to report all possible deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety.
Employee is to adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Desire to work in a team based environment.
Able to deal with multiple priorities and successfully organize all mechanics work on a daily basis.
Knowledge of equipment such as formax’s, ovens, spiral freezers, and mixers.
Must have skills to direct and train employees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Prefer minimum of five (5) years maintenance experience.
Prefer two (2) years of supervisory or leader experience.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, but experience will be considered.
Experience in designing and modification of equipment.
